10' Tweco®Mini MIG style (150A at 25% duty-cycle) MIG welding Gun. Uses Tweco® Mini MIG style consumables. Fits many small (and typically Italian-made) MIG welders. Features a gas valve in the brass block at the base of the swan neck, located within the handle, since the machines do not include a built-in solenoid valve. The ring terminal connects to a stud on the inside of the machine, the two female spade terminal trigger wires connect to the trigger terminal on the inside of the machine, and the gas hose runs through the machine and to the adapter on the backside of the machine.
I have a Chicago Electric MIG 170 and in a couple of hours I improved the convenience of operation drastically by extending the length of of my stock cable by 4 feet. This made it much easier to work on projects without having to move my welder all the time. I enjoy using it much more now.
Works ok for about 30 minutes of use then hangs up breaks wire has to be hand fed all the way thru the gun because the sleeve is two pieces and the wire doesn't want to feed thru the second one in the gun!
I got this replacement gun for my 35 year old Century 135GL, the difference is remarkable. I have been struggling for a long time with the stock gun having to squeeze really hard to get full gas, and now realize it’s never been very good.
The HTP gun is so amazing, very light touch and full gas flow creates a perfect shield for the arc and the beads I can lay down are the best this machine has ever done, I thought it was just a weak machine, but it was the gun all along.
So, as if the performance alone wasn’t enough, the added length changes the whole experience, no more moving the welder cart around big projects, the 10’ length means I can easily walk around the big projects which has sped up production immeasurably. I just finished a series of ladder-like frames out 16 gauge 1x1 square tube, I finished so quickly I kept checking to make sure I actually hit all the joints, I couldn’t believe it went so fast.
