Join HTP America in our premier “Introduction to TIG Welding” class. Our 4-hour class covers steel and aluminum welding, torch basics, filler material, and many little-known tricks of the trade. If you are just beginning to TIG weld or want to improve your skills, this class is a must attend!
The class is taught by Jerry Westhouse, fabricator for both Champ Car team Newman-Haas Racing and NHRA Top Fuel team Zizzo Racing.
Each class features 3 welding stations, using the Invertig 221, with 2 participants per station. Class size is limited to 6 participants and the cost is $195 per participant. Reservations will be taken on a first come basis. Please register online or call our office at 847-357-0700. Classes are non-refundable.

If you do not have your own PPE, you can rent some from us for $15. Please call ahead for this service.
We are following precautionary guidelines in regards to COVID-19:
♦ You are required to sign a COVID-19 liability waiver
♦ Class participants will have their temperature taken upon entrance to the facility.
♦ We ask that you are courteous of others and practice social distancing guidelines. A mask is required within the class, warehouse, and class-room area.
♦ Please bring your own appropriate PPE. We ask that you bring your own gloves, helmet, and safety glasses. All items can be bought at HTP.
♦ Machines and equipment will be wiped down and the appropriate sanitary products will be available as well.

HTP’s Intro to TIG was a superb jammed packed 4 hour dive into elementary TIG welding and basic set up and use of the HTP 221 Invertig machine. Good course for someone with no TIG experience or someone who is thinking about purchasing a TIG machine, particularly the HTP 221. A newby won’t depart a TIG welder but will be introduced to the basics of TIG, know how to set up the 221, “dial” in very basic parameters, establish an arc, create and move a puddle. Lots of hands on/under the hood time. Recommend for a newby wanting to check out the 221. BTW I own an HTP 221 Invertig - it’s an exceptional machine & far and away the best value for the $ on the market at this time - no one is even close!

Very good experience for a brief class. Jerry was great, a wealth of knowledge and willing to answer all questions. The facility and equipment was first rate. Had fun and learned lots! Jerry Westhouse does an excellent job, giving a lot of information in a short period of time. Highly recommend this class for anyone just starting to learn TIG welding. Great price considering the time and cost of a community college. Jerry gives a great overview and shows solutions to help you solve your own problems when learning at home. His helper Nichol was friendly and knowledgeable and able to help you when Jerry was with other students. All the staff I met at USA WELD were great! I will continue to be a loyal customer. Darrin.
