I try not to, but I'll regularly run these electrode all the way until the halfnium dot in the end is completely consumed, and only then will the electrode stop lighting an arc, but at $6 a piece, it's easy to justify changing them out between sheets or before any finer cut to ensure the best performance. Having your running costs be as low as possible allows a shop to focus on the larger upgrades and new equipment purchases, which is ideal in my book.
