HTP® Mig 2000i:
HTP® is moving full speed ahead at 88 mph. "88 miles per hour!" Of course, you might think that this is a little slow by today's standards, since most factory sports cars these days easily have 500hp or more!
A lot of our customers have a nostalgic soft spot in their hearts for the old transformer welders. They feel like all of these new screens, menus and buttons are more of a hinderance than a help to the operator.
If you feel the same way, then the HTP® Mig 2000i is the machine for you!
HTP® Mig 2000i
This unit is modeled after the classic transformer machines of the past. One dial for wire speed and one dial for voltage. Don't get mad, but we had to at least give it a basic digital readout for accuracy. NO fancy screens, NO hidden menus or fancy synergic functions that you almost need to have a degree in computer science to operate.
The HTP®MIG 2000i is a MIG only welder, NOT a multi process machine. Just a basic “good old Mig”. We know you will love and appreciate this “classic” approach to welding. Under the hood you will find that the big old transformer had to go. Even though everyone loves dinosaurs and transformer MIG welders-BOTH are now extinct! In its place you will find a modern, small, lightweight and energy efficient high-tech inverter. Designed and built in Italy by STEL, this unit performs like no other!
It will surprise you how smooth and virtually spatter free you can weld with a small machine like this. Powerful “late model technology” in a small package. "You bet your a** it works!" -Marty McFly.
If you have access to 220/240 Volt and you want more from your welding machine, then add the new HTP® Mig 2000i to your lineup. Great design and performance inside and out with 200 Amp max output, pure simplicity.
This machine is designed for welding steel but if you need to weld aluminum in a pinch it is a definitely a possibility. You won’t even need big and bulky spool guns, you can feed the wire through our 8' 26 series mig gun and “just weld”. However, the Mig 2000i is NOT a pulse welding machine. What does that mean for you? The minimum material thickness you can reasonably and practically weld is about 1/8” IF the fit up is really good. Filling gaps and voids requires some experience and is not as easy as one might think. A lot of welders will use the help of copper spoons or copper backing bars to fill gaps. Since aluminum Mig needs to be a spray transfer it is not as easy as “I will just turn the machine down” …. If the settings are too low there will not be enough energy in the welding arc to penetrate through the aluminum oxide layer. This machine will weld aluminum from 1/8” to 1/4” in a single pass, with pre heating and multi pass welds you could weld thicker aluminum. The behavior of this machine when welding aluminum is similar to a welder with a “classic spool gun”, IF YOU ARE WELDING ALUMINUM THINNER THAN 1/8” OR IF YOU HAVE VOIDS IN YOUR FIT UP -YOU WILL NEED A PULSE MIG MACHINE! If you are not sure what you need, please call us so we can discuss your application with you.
